Design the new Better Place project logo

Pens and crayons at the ready! Our Better Place project needs your help to design their logo!

Better Place is one of our new and exciting projects and is being delivered by Groundwork North, East and West Yorkshire (NEWY). Over the next few years Better Place will be working with families in our area of Bradford to develop safer and healthier places for expectant mothers and children under four to play, walk and increase their access to outdoor space. Groundwork are looking forward to working with local people to bring about these changes, and to launch the project we are inviting children from the Better Start Bradford area, to help design a logo to give the Better Place project a recognisable identity.

You could win £50 worth of children’s gardening goodies!

To enter, families must have at least one child aged under four years old, however any aged child can help to create the design with them, including teenage brothers and sisters! Entrants must live in the Better Start Bradford area: Bowling and Barkerend, Bradford Moor and Little Horton.

There is a prize for every entry – each one will receive a packet of seeds, and an overall winner will receive £50 worth of children’s gardening goodies!

If you’d like to enter the competition, please click this link to download an entry form.

Completed entries can either be dropped in, or posted to Jane Halladay at the ‘Better Place Project, The Mayfield Centre, Broadway Avenue, BD5 9NP’ or scanned in and emailed to: [email protected]

The closing date is 16th March 2018.

Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges from Groundwork NEWY & Better Start Bradford.

Jane Halladay, Senior Community Co-ordinator, said: “Groundwork NEWY are really pleased to be delivering this project and helping to create the logo will be a lovely activity for children of all ages to get involved with. The project aims to leave a lasting legacy for the communities in the wards it’s focused on, and the logo is just the beginning! In designing it we’d like children and families to think about what they enjoy about being outside and their connection to nature. We can’t wait to see the entries and be proud of the logo that promotes the project for the coming years!”

Good luck everyone!
