Better Start Bradford sowing wild seeds

Better Start Bradford are leading by example by starting a pictorial meadow in their Mayfield Centre office car park with the help of local nursery children at the Mayfield Children’s Place Day Nursery on Broadway Avenue.

Johanna Mawson, Project Manager for Better Start Bradford said “Pictorial meadows are an effective way of transforming and brightening up urban spaces and introducing local communities to the joys of getting up close with nature, while encouraging insects such as butterflies, bees, beetles and hoverflies.

“The children can look forward to a display of wildflowers such as cosmos, poppies, cornflowers, campions, bishop’s flower and our favourite: baby’s breath!”
