Better Start Bradford is thrilled to be showing two community screenings of the thought-provoking one-hour film RESILIENCE: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope.
This is a FREE event
This short film, directed and produced by Robert Redford’s son, James, looks at the science behind how extreme or prolonged stressful experiences in childhood can affect a person’s brain development, leading to health and social problems into adulthood and throughout a person’s life. This is now recognised to be a leading cause of many physical and mental health problems for adults and social issues.
It also shows some of the innovative work that has already been started around the world to reduce the impact on people.
This documentary is a real eye opener and the research that it discusses is very important for us all to understand within our local communities where there is a higher risk of children growing up facing adversity and living with the effects of trauma
These FREE events are open to everybody in the community, and also includes free refreshments and a panel discussion.
Each screening will be followed by a panel discussion, exploring what we can all do to better support babies, children and families in Bradford.
To book your FREE tickets for this event please ring us at Better Start on 01274 723146, email [email protected] or text Abida on – 07494 558 323.
